After the Twilight boom, I wasn't really into reading books about vampires or undead people. I had gotten tired of every plot line basically being the same. You know, the girl falls in love with someone that isn't human, and they have all these problems ya dah ya dah ya dah. Before I had read Evermore, the first book in the Immortal Series, I thought it was going to be like all the other forbidden love books. You can imagine my surprise when I realized that this book had taken fantasy novels to a whole new level. The novel created a whole new world of magic, ghosts, forbidden love, and suspenseful conflicts.
Ever, a teenage girl who is dealing with the loss of her parents, now lives in sunny California with her aunt, but she is no ordinary girl. She has the gift to see people's auras, know what they're thinking, and figure out everything in their life with one simple touch. Ever is sort of a loner, but when Damen comes into town, she can't help but to be swept off of her feet. Just like Ever, Damen isn't an ordinary person. He has his own secrets and mysteries that can put Ever in life-threatening danger.
